Amy and Chris were set up on a blind date by a friend and quickly hit it off. Chris surprised Amy by proposing while hiking up a mountain and they were married on a beach in Florida in 2016 surrounded by family. Chris runs and is part of a successful business, and Amy works as an associate professor at ASU. Chris enjoys outdoor activities like kayaking, swimming, and going to the lake.  Amy is involved in the community and enjoys yoga, running, and baking. It's said that Amy's chocolate cake can't be beat! They enjoy visiting public monuments and museums during a lot of their travels. They also enjoy exposing themselves to new cultures, events, experiences, and food. The couple understands there may be challenges that come with raising a child of a different culture or race, but they state they have never been ones to back down from a challenge. They said, "we will fiercely protect our child from any challenges that come our way."  The couple looks forward to raising their child and welcoming them into their lives. They have prayed for this child for years and eagerly await beginning the adventure of becoming parents.
