Ricky and Kayla are the kind of people who turn ordinary moments into cherished memories. After more than two decades together as best friends, partners, and each other's biggest supporters, they are excited to share the love, stability, and joy they've built with a child.

Their story began as teenagers when a mutual friend introduced them. What started as friendship slowly grew into a lifelong love story. More than 20 years later, they still laugh together, travel together, cheer on their favorite teams together, and dream about the future together. At the center of all those dreams is becoming parents.

Ricky is a registered nurse and trauma coordinator who has dedicated his career to helping others during some of life's most difficult moments. He is calm, dependable, and compassionate. Friends and family describe him as someone who can fix almost anything and will show up whenever someone needs help.

When he's not working, Ricky enjoys woodworking, watching Razorback sports, cheering for the Denver Broncos, and spending time outdoors. He loves building things with his hands and is already imagining future projects with a child by his side.

Kayla is an estate planning attorney who helps families prepare for the future and protect the people they love most. She is thoughtful, organized, warm-hearted, and deeply family-oriented.

Cooking is one of her greatest passions. She loves planning meals, trying new recipes, and gathering loved ones around a crowded table. Family and friends know that if Kayla is hosting, nobody leaves hungry. She also enjoys reading, traveling, cheering for the Razorbacks, and capturing special memories through photographs.

Ricky and Kayla dated for 10 years before getting married, choosing to finish their education before beginning the next chapter of their lives. Their wedding perfectly reflected who they are: meaningful, relaxed, and centered around family.

Kayla wore her late mother's wedding dress, lovingly updated for the occasion. Guests enjoyed fresh catfish from a local food truck, gathered around a fire pit making s'mores, and celebrated late into the evening. Afterward, the newlyweds headed to Disney World for their honeymoon, beginning a tradition they still treasure today.Their marriage is built on friendship, laughter, mutual respect, and unwavering support.

Family means everything to Ricky and Kayla.

Ricky stays close with his mother and younger brother and enjoys frequent visits and regular phone calls. Kayla was raised by her grandparents, whom she lovingly calls Mom and Dad, after losing her parents at a very young age. Her extended family is large, close-knit, and full of love. Holidays are joyful, busy gatherings filled with cousins, grandparents, laughter, and plenty of food. In their family, everyone is welcomed with open arms. They believe family is built through love, commitment, and showing up for one another every day. Their loved ones are incredibly excited about their adoption journey and have eagerly awaited the day they can welcome a child into the family.

Ricky and Kayla have created a warm, welcoming home where love is felt in the little things: family dinners, movie nights, holiday traditions, backyard playtime, and cozy evenings together.

They share their home with two beloved dogs: Sinatra, a sweet and gentle black lab mix, and Olivia ("Livy"), a loving pit mix who considers it her mission to keep track of everyone she loves.Both dogs are patient, affectionate, and treasured members of the family.

A fully furnished nursery is already waiting, filled with hope and anticipation for the child who will one day call it home.

One thing is certain about Ricky and Kayla: life with them will be full of adventure. They love exploring new places and creating memories together. Over the years they have traveled throughout the United States, visited New York City, explored Colorado, driven California's Pacific Coast Highway, and spent time in Italy. Disney World holds a special place in their hearts and has become one of their favorite family traditions. They cannot wait to experience the magic through a child's eyes for the first time. Future dreams include trips to Hawaii, Germany, Alaska, and countless family adventures still waiting to be planned. Whether it's a trip across the world or a weekend road trip close to home, Ricky and Kayla believe the best memories are made together.

Education, meaningful experiences, travel, family traditions, and unconditional love will all be part of their child's life. Most importantly, they want their child to grow up knowing they belong. After experiencing infertility and pursuing fertility treatments, Ricky and Kayla realized that becoming parents was far more important than how parenthood happened. For them, love creates a family. They have always believed that biology is only one small part of what makes someone a parent. The countless acts of caring, guiding, teaching, comforting, and loving are what truly build a family.

They will always honor their child's adoption story with openness, gratitude, and respect.
