David is a High School Social Studies teacher and Maddie is a stay at home mom. They also have 3 cats that they have had since kittens. They believe in making memories as a family. They enjoy trips to the zoo, aquariums, and parks. As a family, they enjoy shopping together, however David admits that his son usually leads him to hang out in the toy aisle :) David loves spending time outside and blazing trails around the neighborhood with their son. Maddie loves baking and sharing with others. David and Maddie both share their love for a good book. They see reading as a way to spur the imagination.
David and Maddie share a very open view about adoption. They believe a person is a person regardless of how they look. A baby should never be devalued by anyone, that they are innocent and deserve all of the love. They vow to do their best to incorporate any child's culture into their lives. If a child is different, that difference is to be celebrated, not hidden away and shamed. They promise they will fight against antiquated and ignorant opinions by fostering self-confidence and grit in the child.
"We want to say thank you from the bottom of our heart. We recognize the selfless sacrifice and decision you are making. We have a tremendous amount of admiration for the strength and courage during this process. It is important for us to be open to them about their roots, background, and story, and especially the importance of you. They will be loved and cherished, nurtured and guided. Fostering revealed our devotion to caring for a child, biological or not, as our own. Our hearts grew when our son was born and we know they will grow more when another little one comes. Love we couldn’t imagine will fill our entire being. We wish to give our son a sibling he can bond with and share stories with. We can’t wait to see what incredible things await with the blessing you are trusting us with. You are the reason this is happening and regardless of how we all got here, we will be with you as you cross the finish line and celebrate your strength. We have prayed for you and this child for years and will continue to." Maddie and David
